MetalGear Brake Discs are renowned for being a premium quality braking component. Since 2003, MetalGear has developed a reputation for producing a product and service that gives mechanics confidence and peace of mind when choosing MetalGear. All kinds of brake discs / rotors come out of our workshop. We've developed over 1000 solid discs and over 300 floating disc variations catering for all types of motorcycles and ATV's. Going further we have also increased manufacturing tolerances to exceed OEM making us a preference in the Japanese and European markets. So here's a walkthrough the different styles of brake discs we produce.Solid Brake DiscsThe most common style of brake disc. These can vary in size drastically and will most commonly be found on the rear of a motorcycle with larger sizes found on the front. Especially for the larger sized discs the precision and material consistency is crucial for a long lasting brake disc.Floating Brake DiscsThe two piece construction of floating discs allows for greater heat expenditure under heavier braking loads. There's more than meets the eye when it comes to this style of brake disc as additional tolerances and quality checks are needed throughout the grinding, machining and assembly process to guarantee they will serve until their wear limit.

Some carriers will come in either steel or alloy using our own preferred washer and rivet system suited to carrier material and outer thickness.Heritage Brake DiscsThose were the days! For the owners lucky enough to hold onto those gems from the 60's-90's we have you covered. We pride ourselves on a comprehensive range that also caters for the older classics so don't stress if that brake disc wear limit is fast approaching. Our solid offset discs in particular have developed quite the reputation in Europe and UK particularly amongst the CB, RD and KZ communities.

Refurbishment DiscsNot all discs are simple which is why we offer a specialty refurbishment service particularly those for the older rivetted set up. You can spot these by the part number with a '-K' a at the end e.g. 20-135-K. The process is quite extensive so we like to make a full examination of your current discs before bringing them back to life with a new braking surface, reconditioned carrier and our own bolt system replacing the rivets.
